Job summary

Au Pair Extraordinaire Waterkloof, PTA seeks an energetic, reliable au pair for afternoons with two school-age children. Permanent contract from 06 January 2027. Duties include collecting from school, taking to activities, assisting with homework and projects, and packing for the next day.

Flexibility around hours is required. Candidates must have 12+ months childcare experience, own car with 18 months driving, 2 childcare references, a clear criminal record, Matric, and a SA ID.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect from school and transport to after-school activities and appointments.
• Assist and supervise homework and school projects; help with test/exam prep.
• Ensure bags are packed for the next day and pack school lunches.
• Manage busy extra-mural schedules and organise holiday activities.
• Prepare lunch and snacks; engage in fun activities and outings with the children.
• Communicate thoroughly with the parents.

Ages: Twin boy and girl aged 11 years old in Grade 6 and a 9 year old daughter in Gr 4 (mild dyslexia, very smart and capable)
Working hours: Mon – Thurs 14:30 – 18:00 – Flexibility around these hours would be appreciated. Adhoc Fridays every now and then with prior notice.
School holiday hours: Same hours as above with some flexibility if possible
Duties: Collect from school, take to extra murals and appointments, assist and supervise with homework and school projects, assist with test and exam prep (setting mock exams or using old papers), ensure bags are unpacked and packed for the following day, pack school lunches. Manage busy extra murals schedules. During school holidays, organise fun activities and take them on outings. Prepare lunch and snacks. Engage in fun activities with the children. Communicate thoroughly with the parents.
Requirements: The family is needing someone aged between 20 – 30 years, who is fun and engaging, but can also be firm and set boundaries with the children. Someone who is reliable, takes initiative and is a very strong communicator. She needs to be patient and encouraging with the kids and provide additional support. The parents are very involved and hands on, they need and extra pair of hands and someone to join their team.

Start date: 06 January 2027 – permanent contract

Salary: R8000 - R9000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95) for any driving done directly for the family. Not to get to and from work.

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
