Job summary

Pro Talent in South Africa is seeking a hands-on maintenance assistant for the truck yard, performing minor repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance to keep vehicles and equipment in good working order.

The role requires at least 2 years of mechanical or maintenance experience, basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Working hours are Monday to Saturday, 08:00–17:00, with a basic salary up to R17 000.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of relevant mechanical or maintenance experience.
Basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge.
Experience working at a truck dealership, trucking company or similar environment would be advantageous.
Knowledge of trailer maintenance, tyre care and minor repairs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform minor mechanical repairs on trucks and trailers.
Assist with trailer servicing and general maintenance.
Conduct preventative maintenance and tyre inspections.
Identify mechanical issues and assist with breakdowns.
Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
Assist with general maintenance duties within the truck yard.
Ensure maintenance tasks are completed timeously and efficiently.
