Hire Resolve is seeking a diligent, experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their Gauteng team. The role focuses on leading maintenance staff, planning projects, and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance within a dynamic maintenance division.

The successful candidate will oversee training, budget planning, and coordination with vendors, while driving safety and efficiency across sites in the district.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and training staff.
• 5+ years of management in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Experience with DOT compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and repair processes.
• Ability to plan, budget, schedule and supervise multiple projects.

Job description

Hire Resolve is seeking a diligent, experienced Assistant Maintenace Manager to join their growing team in Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Dedicated to supporting maintenance technicians by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
• Project planning and cost analysis.
• Monitor the Company’s Quality program in the station and ensure conformity and implementation of standards.
• Develop business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans.
• Responsible for adherence to Company training programs.
• Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks.
• Schedules or assigns work to Mechanics, PM Mechanics or other Maintenance Shop personnel.
• Provides oversight and responsible for organization of the yard and facilities at every location within the division.
• Fosters collaboration between and among personnel.
• Ensure adequate training and development of mechanics, leads, and all other shop personnel.
• Discusses maintenance issues, contracts and warranty work with vendors.
• Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget.
• Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

• Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements;
• Must be able to travel to locations with in the district;
• Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information;
• CDL Class B with Air Brakes a plus;
• Experience leading, mentoring, and training staff a must;
• Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division and district objectives;
• 5+ years management or supervision experience in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Waste industry experience a plus;
• Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair;
• Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems;
• Must have ability to plan, budget, schedule and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
