Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Field Service Electrical Engineer to join our client in Soweto. The role involves installing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical equipment at customer sites, with extensive travel.

You will be the primary technical contact, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal product performance. The ideal candidate holds a BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years in field service or industrial support, with strong diagnostic skills and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably with industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and power electronics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test electrical equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of electrical machinery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Provide technical training and support to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Maintain detailed service reports, documenting all work performed and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to provide customer feedback and drive product improvements.
