Travel Consultant position available in Pretoria.

The Travel Consultant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by designing, selling, and managing bespoke travel itineraries.

The role focuses on building strong client relationships, delivering expert travel advice, achieving sales targets, and contributing to the overall profitability of the business.

Salary: R15 000 per month plus commission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Client Service & Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
    • Deliver professional, efficient, and personalised service to all customers.
    • Handle client queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Travel Planning & Booking
    • Design and sell customised travel itineraries tailored to individual client preferences, budgets, and needs.
    • Book all travel components including flights, accommodation, transfers, and related services.
    • Provide expert advice on destinations, visa requirements, and travel insurance options.
  • Sales & Revenue Generation
    • Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall business profitability.
    • Maximise sales opportunities through upselling, cross-selling, and promoting preferred suppliers and partners.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance client travel experiences while increasing revenue.
  • Administration & Systems
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records using internal operational systems.
    • Ensure all bookings, documentation, and client details are correctly captured.
    • Comply with internal procedures and industry standards.
  • Industry Awareness & Development
    • Stay informed on travel industry trends, destinations, and product offerings.
    • Participate in training and development initiatives related to destinations and products.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in reservation systems such as Amadeus is advantageous.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a travel consulting or customer-facing sales role is advantageous.
  • Experience within the leisure, wholesale, or tourism sector is beneficial.
