Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Transport Engineer to drive urban planning and infrastructure projects from their Paarl, Western Cape office. You will lead traffic studies, design road networks, and develop transportation models to support sustainable mobility and community growth.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering or Transport Planning degree and 3–5 years of experience, with proficiency in Vissim/TransCAD and CAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Transport Planning.
• 3-5 years of experience in transportation engineering and traffic analysis.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling software (Vissim, TransCAD) and CAD.
• Knowledge of South African road design standards and traffic regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic studies, data collection, and analysis for transportation projects.
• Design road networks, intersections, public transport facilities, and pedestrian/cycling infrastructure.
• Develop transportation models and assess the impact of proposed developments.
• Prepare traffic impact assessments, feasibility studies, and design reports.
• Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and municipal officials on integrated transport solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with traffic engineering standards and safety guidelines.
