Job summary

Merchant West Holdings invites applications for a Transactor to originate, structure and execute profitable lending and structured finance transactions for mid-market corporate clients. You will build trusted client relationships and coordinate internal stakeholders through to successful funding.

This role covers the full client lifecycle from business development and opportunity identification to credit approval, drawdown and portfolio management, balancing client needs, commercial returns and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or commerce.
• Postgraduate qualification such as CA(SA), CFA, MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field (advantageous).
• 2–4 years in a Transactor or Originator environment.
• Experience in corporate banking, commercial banking, structured finance and debt transactions.

Responsibilities

• Originate and develop bankable lending opportunities aligned with strategy.
• Coordinate end-to-end transaction processes through to funding.
• Structure financing solutions balancing client needs with risk.
• Manage portfolio performance through regular reviews and covenant monitoring.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, introducers and investors.
• Present opportunities to Credit Committees and funders.
