Job summary

Pick n Pay Retailers is seeking a store operations candidate to support multiple departments and ensure high standards of service. The role involves assisting customers, managing stock, and contributing to promotions within a large supermarket network.

The ideal candidate has a matric and 2–3 years of retail experience (or 1–3 years in a departmental manager role). Willingness to transfer between stores and consent to background checks are required, with a valid SA ID and driver's licence

Qualifications

• Matriculated is required.
• 2-3 years retail experience advantageous.
• 1-3 years departmental manager experience advantageous.
• Willingness to be transferred between stores.
• Consent to full credit and criminal check.
• Must have a valid South African ID.
• Driver's Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on products and services, and respond to requests.
• Plan and implement sales promotions.
• Monitor budgets and take required action.
• Analyse department profitability and take necessary actions.
• Ensure correct pricing and labels; keep stock rotated.
• Maintain hygiene, housekeeping and safety standards; follow security procedures.

This is a career path to become a store manager Must be Matriculated 2- 3 years retail experience advantageous 1 – 3 years departmental manager experience advantagious Must be successful in at least 2 competency based interviews Must be flexible and willing to be transferred between stores Must be willing to give authorization for a full credit and criminal check Must have a valid South African ID Drivers Licence is essential Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained (floor and back-up) Ensure that security procedures are adhered to Ensure that merchandise/display standards are adhered to Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. Damaged/expired stock is removed Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages Check correct pricing e.g. labels Ensure that all administration is completed accurately and timeously Analyse, maintain and update relevant information/documentation, take required action when necessary Plan and implement sales promotions Approach and advise customers on the product, listen to customers’ requests, provide the required product or services.
