Job summary

Brights in South Africa seeks a department supervisor to oversee daily operations, monitor housekeeping and merchandising, and report to the Department Manager to meet sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

You will schedule staff, manage stock accuracy and returns, conduct performance reviews, and train team members on product knowledge and procedures to promote growth and efficiency in a hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent.
• Brights Leadership Training completed.
• Brights Induction (Service Excellence) completed.
• 2+ years in a similar role in hardware retail.
• Experience in tools department and stock management.
• Certificate in merchandising is preferred.
• Knowledge of internal procedures and returns policy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of the department and adherence to SOPs.
• Plan work schedules, daily registers, and attendance.
• Monitor housekeeping, merchandising, and stock checks.
• Lead weekly sales meetings and staff training.
• Review performance and nominate staff for awards.
• Manage disciplinary actions and dispute resolutions.
• Oversee returns policy and CFC-related processes.
• Prepare weekly and monthly department reports.
