Brights in South Africa seeks a proactive Sales Assistant to help customers choose the right electrical products and deliver outstanding service. You will manage stock, advise on solutions, and assist with merchandising to drive sales. The role requires practical hardware experience and a service-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent required.
• 2 years minimum experience in a hardware environment.
• Basic exposure to electrical products for at least 2 years.
• Brights induction focused on service excellence.
• In-house merchandising standards.
• In-house basic sales technique.
• 2x Department Product Knowledge Certificate.
• Natural sales flair.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written).

Responsabilités

• Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner.
• Generate more sales and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Control stock levels and perform regular stock counts.
• Advise customers on products to best solve their needs.
• Place stock orders with buyers when necessary.
• Handle admin tasks including customer files and invoices.
• Ensure merchandising is correct and products are priced properly.
• Participate in perpetual stock takes.
• Maintain good housekeeping of the work area.
• Perform any tasks delegated by superiors.

Description du poste

Purpose: To assist customers by helping them choose a product that is best suitable for whatever need the customer has, in such a manner that the assistance of the Sales Assistant is appreciated by the customer when he/she purchases any product. This will include the ability to provide good customer service in such a manner that customer satisfaction is achieved, resulting in generating sales and promoting the business therefore creating sustainable growth in margins and profits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner
• Generate more sales, ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service
• Control stock levels and doing regular stock counts
• Advise customers with regards to products, which product would be best in order to solve the customers’ problem
• Place stock orders with buyers if necessary
• Attend to relevant admin tasks including up keep of customer book, special orders file and forwarding of invoices as well as other relevant tasks
• Ensure merchandising is done properly and that the products are priced correctly
• Participate in perpetual stock takes
• Ensure good housekeeping of work area
• Perform any work related tasks as delegated by superior

REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric or x3 Completed Intercept courses equating to total of 120 credits
• 2 Years minimum experience in a Hardware environment
• Basic product exposure (must have spent at least 2 years with Electrical products)
• Brights Induction (Service excellence)
• In-house entry level merchandising standards
• In house basic sales technique
• 2 x Department Product Knowledge Certificate
• Natural Sales flair
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
