Job summary

Execustaff Recruiting Services in Durban is seeking an experienced toolmaker to design new injection moulds and press tooling in 3D CAD, turning product models into complete tool drawings.

You will manufacture tool components with CNC milling, EDM, grinding, and conventional machines, assemble and test, and fix issues to meet drawings and specs while maintaining tool records and training apprentices.

Qualifications

• Design new injection moulds and press tooling in 3D CAD from product model to full tool drawings.
• Manufacture tool components using CNC milling, EDM, grinding and conventional machines.
• Assemble, fit and test tools, fixing problems until parts meet drawings and quality specs.

Responsibilities

• Design new injection moulds and press/progressive dies in 3D CAD, from product model to full tool drawings.
• Manufacture tool components using CNC milling, EDM (wire and sinker), grinding, and conventional machines.
• Assemble, fit, and try out tools, then fix problems until parts meet drawing and quality specs.
• Run preventive maintenance and fast repairs on production tools to keep downtime low.
• Modify existing tools for engineering changes and new product variants.
• Quote tooling time and materials for internal and external jobs.
• Keep tool records up to date: drawings, maintenance logs, and spare parts.
• Train and supervise apprentices and junior tool-room staff.
• Follow health and safety rules and keep the tool room clean and organised.
