Boardroom Appointments in Pretoria seeks a Toolmaker Level 2 or Level 3 to join the manufacturing team. You will follow engineering drawings, work with CAD/CAM, assemble, fit, and repair tools to guarantee production quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools.
• Following engineering drawings to measure and mark out designs.
• Using hand tools (files, hacksaws, grinders).
• Operating lathes, presses, milling machines, and grinders.
• Using CAD/CAM software for tool design and setup.
• Using micrometers, gauges, and vernier calipers to check dimensions.
• Monitoring tool performance on the manufacturing line.
• Carrying out tool maintenance and reporting issues.
• Ensuring workplace organisation and cleanliness.

• Toolmaker Level 2 OR Level 3
• Knowledge of technical drawing and use of computer-aided design and manufacturing software (CAD/CAM)

Responsibilities:

• Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools.
• Following engineering drawings to measure and mark out the design for the tool.
• Using hand tools such as files, hacksaws, and grinders.
• Using machinery such as lathes, presses, milling machines, and grinders to cut and shape the tools.
• Using 2D and 3D computer-aided design and manufacturing software (CAD/CAM).
• Using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and vernier calipers to check the tool's dimensions.
• Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or improvements.
• Attending to machine breakdowns to identify the root cause and solve the problem.
• Assisting with tool maintenance.
• Assisting with compiling necessary maintenance and tooling department reports.
• Ensuring the organisation and cleanliness of the workplace.
• Maintaining facilities, equipment, and machines used in good repair.
• Proper segregation of waste.
• Reducing consumption that leads to positive environmental impacts.
• Raising awareness of the occurrence or possible occurrence of environmental impact.
