Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Toddler Care Specialist & Educator in Benoni to care for children aged 18 months to 3 years. You will create a safe, stimulating environment and plan activities to support social, emotional, and cognitive development.

The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication with parents, and adherence to health and safety standards in a nurturing setting. This is a part-time position based in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience working with toddlers (18 months - 3 years).
• Genuine passion for early childhood education and nurturing disposition.
• Strong understanding of toddler development and engaging activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics and ensure a safe environment.
• Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clean criminal record and eligibility to work in South Africa.
• Knowledge of Gauteng region is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for a group of toddlers, ensuring safety at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities promoting sensory exploration and language development.
• Establish and maintain a nurturing, positive, stimulating classroom environment.
• Assist children with daily routines including feeding, napping, and hygiene.
• Observe and document children's progress and milestones; communicate with parents.
• Collaborate with educators to ensure high-quality care and safe space.
