Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp, North West is seeking a dedicated Toddler Development Specialist to lead our toddler program for children aged 18 months to 3 years. You will design a developmentally appropriate curriculum, provide attentive care, and create a safe, engaging learning environment.

The ideal candidate has a recognized Early Childhood Development qualification, at least 3 years of toddler experience, strong communication, and First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• A recognized qualification in Early Childhood Development or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically with toddlers in a professional childcare setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification, preferably pediatric specialization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers.
• Provide attentive, individualized care and monitor progress toward milestones.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment.
• Observe, document, and assess toddlers' progress toward developmental milestones.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on development and well-being.
• Manage classroom routines, including feeding, napping, and hygiene.
• Facilitate positive social interactions and emotional regulation among toddlers.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and execute age-appropriate activities and events.
• Uphold the center's policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and child protection.
