Job summary

Pump and Abrasion Technologies in Gauteng seeks a versatile worker to handle layout, installation, repair, finishing and maintenance of structures and fixtures, and to design and measure materials per client requirements.

You will move wood to the wood shop, inspect tools, measure pallets, operate saws and cranes, and pack pumps and spares while ensuring safety and accuracy. This role emphasizes hands-on workmanship and adherence to guidelines.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent may be required.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Safety-conscious and able to read labels/warnings.
• Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
• Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Move wood from delivery point to the wood shop area.
• Conduct tool inspections.
• Take measurements for pallets with a tape measure.
• Operate circular saw for cutting timber.
• Hammer wood together.
• Pick and pack final products.
• Wrap packages with a shrink wrap gun.
• Manage consumables for the area.
• Strap loads onto pallets.
• Operate overhead crane to pack loads before strapping and wrapping.
• Close intake and discharge of pumps; apply thread protector tape and wrap pumps and spares.
