Job summary

Meridian Wine Merchants is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to drive sales, merchandising and customer service across a defined Western Cape territory. You will execute structured customer visits, capture orders, and ensure products are correctly merchandised and priced in-store.

The role requires 2–3 years in FMCG or related sales, Grade 12, MS Office and CRM experience, a valid SA driver’s license, and willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) required.
• 2–3 years' FMCG, liquor, or related sales experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM or handheld systems experience.
• Understanding of merchandising principles and pricing audits.
• Valid South African driver's license.
• Willingness to travel extensively within territory.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales, volume and distribution targets within the allocated territory.
• Execute structured customer visits in accordance with approved call cycles and routing plans.
• Apply the Meridian '8 Steps of a Call' during every customer interaction.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery.
• Capture customer orders accurately using company sales systems.
• Ensure products are correctly merchandised, priced and displayed in-store.
• Monitor shelf health, stock availability and pricing compliance.
• Execute promotional activities, displays, tastings and trade activations.
• Capture customer information, pricing audits and merchandising data in real time.
• Monitor competitor activity and provide relevant market intelligence.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and operational standards.
