About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Telecoms Installation Technician to join their field operations team, serving the Queenstown area. You will be responsible for the professional installation and activation of telecommunications equipment and services at residential and business customer premises. This role demands a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service on-site. As the face of our client to many customers, you play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and network integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, connect, and configure telecommunications equipment, including modems, routers, set-top boxes, and associated wiring.
• Perform site surveys and assessments to determine the best installation methods and equipment placement.
• Test installed equipment and services to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic installation-related issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company installation standards.
• Provide clear explanations to customers regarding installed services and equipment operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in telecommunications or electronics are a plus.
• Previous experience in field installation, particularly with telecom equipment , is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of basic networking principles and cabling standards (copper and fiber).
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet performance targets.
• Good physical condition to handle tasks such as climbing ladders and working in various environmental conditions.
• Strong customer service skills and clear communication abilities.
