Placements24 is seeking a diligent Telecoms Field Technician based in Queenstown to install, maintain, and repair telecom equipment at customer sites across the region. The role requires hands-on technical aptitude, independent field work, and professional client interaction.

The ideal candidate will have proven telecoms field experience, strong fiber optics and cabling knowledge, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Technician in telecoms.
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, copper cabling and wireless tech.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment for network analysis.
• Ability to read diagrams, blueprints and installation manuals.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent customer service and ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission telecom equipment at customer premises and network sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostics on network infrastructure and customer equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless systems.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Document all work performed and ensure safety standards and procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities
