Qualifications

• A technical qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience as a Field Engineer or Technician in the telecommunications sector.
• Proficiency in fibre optic installation, termination, and testing techniques (e.g., splicing, OTDR).
• Knowledge of network protocols and common telecommunications hardware.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and respond to urgent service requests.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a commitment to reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission telecommunications equipment and services, including fibre optic connections.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and repair faults reported by customers or identified through network monitoring systems.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine installation requirements and potential challenges.
• Manage tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory efficiently, ensuring readiness for field operations.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies during fieldwork.
