Placements24 is seeking a Telecom Field Technician to join our on-site team servicing Soweto and surrounding Gauteng areas. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer premises and remote sites.

It suits a practical, hands-on individual focused on delivering top-quality service on-site. You will install, test, and repair equipment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain records while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Telecom Field Technician or in a similar technical installation/repair role.
• Solid understanding of telecommunications systems, including DSL, fiber optics, and wireless technologies.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for network testing and repair.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including modems, routers, and associated cabling.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on network infrastructure and customer equipment.
• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot technical issues at customer locations.
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet company standards and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while on job sites.
