Placements24 is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician specializing in telecommunications to join our Benoni team. You will install, maintain, and repair telecom equipment at customer sites and network facilities, working hands-on and independently to ensure high-quality service.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, a customer-focused demeanor, and reliable execution. You will document work using the company mobile app and adhere to safety policies while supporting service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electronics/telecommunications preferred.
• Previous experience as Field Service Technician or similar customer-facing technical role is preferred.
• Proficiency with common hand tools, power tools, and telecom testing equipment; basic networking knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure; excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware (modems, routers, switches, CPE).
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot voice, data, and internet services.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment to restore service promptly.
• Maintain a clean service vehicle and have tools/parts on hand.
• Document all service calls and resolutions using the company app.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
