Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Telecom Field Technician for on-site work in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will install, configure, and repair telecom equipment at customer sites, ensuring reliable service and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with telecommunications hardware, testing tools, and the ability to work independently in varying conditions. A driving license and safety awareness are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or electronics preferred.
Proven experience as Telecom Field Technician or similar hands-on technical role.
Strong understanding of telecommunications principles and hardware.
Proficiency in testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and OTDRs.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle physical demands in the field.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems, including mobile network equipment, fiber optics, and customer premises equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and diagnostics on network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues at customer locations promptly and efficiently.
Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during field operations.
Provide clear reports on work performed, including test results and recommendations for action.
Assist with site surveys and readiness assessments for new installations.
