Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a reliable Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair telecom equipment across sites in and around Bloemfontein. You will address technical issues on customer premises and ensure optimal network performance with on-site service.

Ideal candidates have hands-on telecom hardware experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently in varied environments while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications desirable.
• Proven field service experience with telecom equipment.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, and blueprints; strong diagnostics skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission new telecom equipment at customer premises.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on existing network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to routers, switches, fiber optics, and other telecom devices.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures while on site.
