Job summary

Maritzburg College invites applications for a Technology Educator for Grades 8 and 9. The ideal candidate will integrate technology into teaching, contribute to co-curricular activities, and support pastoral care. A teaching qualification, SACE registration, and police clearance are required.

The appointment start is Term 1 2027. Experience in CAPS/NSC assessment and a commitment to learner development are essential.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and NSC assessment requirements
• Police Clearance Certificate – to be submitted upon appointment
• SACE registration – proof must be provided
• Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience

• Teach Technology to Grades 8 and 9 and potentially Life Orientation

Technology Educator (Grades 8 and 9)

(The ability to teach Life Orientation and Technology would be a recommendation)

To assume duty Term 1 2027

Key Performance Areas: -

• Teaching qualification/degree with appropriate subject specialization
• At least 3 years’ teaching experience
• Maintain a disciplined, focused classroom environment that promotes high standards of learning
• Integrate educational technology and online platforms to enhance teaching and learning
• Participate actively in the school's co-curricular and extramural programme. The ability to coach rugby, hockey, water polo, cricket or basketball will be advantageous.
• Contribute to pastoral care duties and support the holistic development of learners
• Recognised teaching qualification/degree
• SACE registration– proof must be provided
• Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and NSC assessment requirements
• Competency in using technology in the classroom and on educational online platforms
• Police Clearance Certificate– to be submitted upon appointment
