Job summary

Maritzburg College seeks a qualified educator to teach Natural Science and Life Sciences for Grades 8–12, starting Term 1 2027. The successful candidate will uphold the school’s values and deliver quality teaching that builds confident, articulate learners.

Requirements: recognised teaching qualification/degree with subject specialisation, SACE registration, and at least five years’ teaching experience; CAPS/NSC knowledge; ability to use classroom technology; police clearance.

Natural Science and Life Sciences (Grades 8 to 12)

We seek an educator who will uphold the values and ethos of our School while delivering quality teaching in the Sciences. The successful candidate must be committed to learner success and to developing learners who are confident, articulate, and prepared for life beyond school.

Key Performance Areas: -

• Teaching qualification/degree with appropriate subject specialization
• At least 3 years’ teaching experience
• Experience as an NSC marker will be an advantage
• Maintain a disciplined, focused classroom environment that promotes high standards of learning
• Integrate educational technology and online platforms to enhance teaching and learning
• Participate actively in the school's co-curricular and extramural programme. The ability to coach rugby, hockey, water polo, cricket or basketball will be advantageous.
• Contribute to pastoral care duties and support the holistic development of learners

• SACE registration– proof must be provided
• Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience
