Job summary

Tafelberg School, a public special needs school in Bothasig, Cape Town, seeks a qualified Technology & Natural Sciences educator for Grades 7–9 to join our Senior Phase team. The role requires CAPS knowledge, classroom management, and ability to support diverse learners.

Starting 1 January 2027, with extension possible, and exclusionary interview process follows closing date. Applicants must hold a Senior Phase teaching qualification, be SACE registered, and provide police clearance.

Qualifications

• Senior Phase teaching qualification.
• Qualified to teach Technology and Natural Sciences in Grades 7–9.
• Registered with SACE.
• Police clearance.
• Sound knowledge of the CAPS curriculum with a proven track record of effective curriculum delivery.
• Experience teaching learners with specific learning barriers and challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge and application of the SIAS process and documentation.
• Ability to adapt lessons and learning materials to meet diverse learner needs.
• Strong classroom management and discipline skills.
• Willingness to participate fully in the academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular life of the school.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• A solid attendance record and professional work ethic.
• Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Computer literate, with the ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
• Collaborative team player within a multi-disciplinary support team.
• First Aid certificate and PDP advantageous.
