Responsibilities

  • Lecturing in Technology Education to Intermediate Phase students.
  • Develop and adapt curriculum and teaching materials.
  • Supervise students during teaching practice and assess performance.
  • Engage in research activities and contribute to departmental goals.
  • Support multilingual learning and integrate hybrid/online teaching models.

Job Purpose

Applications are invited to fill the position of Technology lecturer in the Intermediate Phase Department. Candidates with expertise in this field and specific skills in the teaching of technology as part of Intermediate Phase Education on the Wellington Campus

Please note that the position is based at the Wellington Campus where tuition is in Afrikaans. Candidates must be able to teach in Afrikaans.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A Master’s degree in Technology Education.
  • A relevant teaching qualification.
  • Technology or an equivalent subject as a major subject at undergraduate level, which includes woodwork, mechanics and the engineering design process.
  • Two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant teaching experience at school level
  • Fluent in Afrikaans (Please note that the position is based at the Wellington Campus where tuition is in Afrikaans. Candidates must be able to teach in Afrikaans).)
