Technological Innovations Group (TIG) in South Africa is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to back the regional sales teams, collaborate with business developers, and deliver hands-on Crestron product support.

You will configure, troubleshoot, and program Crestron devices, assist with installations, produce knowledge bases and training sessions, and liaise with engineering to resolve complex issues, while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in AV programming and support.
• Diploma or higher as stated above.
• AVIXA certification is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Resident of South Africa, Johannesburg area.
• Experience with Crestron or similar systems.
• Basic networking knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for Crestron products to customers, dealers, and partners.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in Crestron systems and AV solutions.
• Assist with installation guidance, system configuration, and programming for Crestron devices.

• Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge bases, and technical guides.
• Conduct product training sessions, CTI Training, Workshops, and webinars.
• Monitor support tickets and feedback to identify recurring issues and propose improvements.
• Stay updated with Crestron technologies, releases and industry trends.
• Support pre-sales with expert advice on product capabilities and solutions.
• Participate in field support for complex deployments when required.

Technological Innovations Group (TIG) is currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer (TSE). The TSE''s role is to support the regional market penetration strategy in close collaboration with local sales managers and business developers.

As part of TI South Africa, you will provide support on many fronts, but the main support is directly to the sales team working in the field and delivering training to our partners. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and troubleshooting our product to resolve our customers' technical issues. You will support the customer by acting as the liaison between the customer and other internal teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers, dealers, and partners regarding Crestron products and solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in Crestron control systems and AV solutions.
• Assist with installation guidance, system configuration, and programming support for Crestron devices.
• Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to address complex technical inquiries and elevate issues when necessary.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, knowledge base articles, and technical guides for internal teams and end-users.
• Conduct product training sessions, CTI Training, Workshops, and webinars to enhance customer and partner technical proficiency.
• Monitor support tickets and customer feedback to identify recurring issues and propose product improvements.
• Stay updated with the latest Crestron technologies, software releases, and industry trends.
• Support pre-sales technical activities by providing expert advice on product capabilities and solution design.
• Participate in field support and troubleshooting for critical or complex deployments when required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years' experience minimum, experience in Audio-Visual programming. Crestron or other.
• Degree: National Diploma, Diploma in Information Technology, or Diploma in Computer Systems Engineering.
• Entry-level IT or AV certifications are advantageous: AVIXA, ...
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Living in South Africa Johannesburg.
• Basic understanding of AV equipment.
• Familiar with video conferencing platforms, A+, Microsoft, and Excel.
• Cabling and connectivity basics.
• Good knowledge of Audio-Visual solutions. C# knowledge, design, and training.
• Willingness to travel and the ability to work effectively within a global team of professionals.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, with a creative, responsible, and self-motivated approach to tasks.
• Having a commercial and technical mindset with a passion for our Crestron products, being open-minded, being a genuine team player, and being able to prioritize and manage time effectively.
