Technical Sales and Customer Support Specialist (JB6263)
Remote (For candidates in Gauteng)
R20 000 basic salary + R15 000 car allowance + R10 000 fixed monthly incentive

Join an international manufacturer and supplier of specialist metal pretreatment chemicals and technologies. The position combines technical customer support, key account management, sales growth and business administration, servicing manufacturing clients across Gauteng and occasionally other regions.

Minimum Requirements

• Own vehicle and valid drivers license
• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry
• Practical laboratory knowledge or experience
• Technical knowledge relevant to chemicals, metal pretreatment or manufacturing environments would be advantageous
• Previous sales, key account management or technical customer support experience
• Key Account Management and sales-related certifications would be advantageous
• Business management training would be advantageous
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage factory-floor employees, technical teams and senior management
• Able to communicate effectively with production, quality, engineering, research and development, laboratory, purchasing, stores and management teams
• Self-motivated, dependable and able to work independently
• Strong planning, follow-through and administrative skills
• Commercially minded and capable of identifying risks and implementing preventative measures
• Based in Gauteng and willing to travel to Durban, Gqeberha and other regions when required
• Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence
• Access to a personal credit card for reimbursable business travel expenses

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing technical, operational and commercial support to existing customers
• Manage a major manufacturing account and provide support with technical queries, orders and deliveries
• Maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, influencers and decision-makers
• Develop and grow new business within the Gauteng region
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products, technologies and problem-solving solutions
• Support customers operating in metal manufacturing, automotive components and related industrial sectors
• Engage with production, quality, engineering, laboratory, purchasing, stores and management departments
• Plan and execute customer activities, sales initiatives and account-development strategies
• Monitor potential customer risks and introduce preventative or early-warning measures where possible
• Coordinate orders, deliveries, customer communication and related administration
• Travel to customer sites in Gauteng and other regions when required
• Complete regular business administration and submit monthly travel and expense claims
