Job summary

Dante Personnel Recruitment (Pty) Ltd in Rustenburg, North West, SA, seeks a Technical Advisor for an agriculture client. You will manage farming due-diligence, oversee residue testing, and ensure audits meet retailer and industry standards.

You'll lead supplier audits, train staff, and promote food-safety practices while maintaining documentation and regulatory compliance across farm and packhouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all farming due-diligence activities
• Oversee the residue-testing programme
• Ensure testing meets customer and industry requirements
• Investigate pesticide and residue concerns
• Manage the supplier audit programme
• Conduct food-safety and ethical audits
• Complete Select Farm audits when required
• Maintain effective food-safety systems and procedures
• Address food-safety issues quickly and effectively
• Build strong relationships with supplier technical teams
• Support the approval of new suppliers
• Assist suppliers with quality improvement
• Support new product and variety development
• Monitor changes in pesticide and residue regulations
• Keep the business informed of new retailer requirements
• Manage retailer pesticide approvals
• Work with Food Experts, Audax and GLSA
• Liaise directly with retailers when required
• Support customer visits to farms and suppliers
• Implement the supply-base environmental strategy
• Review and organise incoming documentation
• Check documents for accuracy and completeness
• Follow up with internal teams for outstanding documents
• Maintain an organised document-storage system
• Ensure documents are easy to retrieve
• Implement relevant regulations and standards
• Maintain required farm audit ratings
• Train and support farm staff
• Promote best practices across the farm
• Provide ongoing guidance and support to employees
• Strong knowledge of HACCP
• Good understanding of Global G.A.P
• Knowledge of BRC requirements
• Knowledge of SIZA Social & Environmental standards
• Knowledge of Farming for the Future
• Experience in a farming environment
