Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment is seeking a skilled Technical Buyer for our Somerset West operation. You will manage procurement activities based on stock, demand and supplier performance, using SAP to create and track purchase orders.

In this role, you will negotiate with suppliers, monitor inventory, verify invoices, and prepare procurement reports while ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements. Collaboration with logistics, finance and production is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or NQF equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Diploma in Purchasing and/or Logistics, or a BCom degree.
• Knowledge of SAP and procurement processes.
• Basic understanding of composites manufacturing processes.
• Strong technical knowledge and computer literacy.
• Excellent supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders using SAP.
• Negotiate with suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Monitor inventory, material replenishment and goods receipt processes.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and goods receipts.
• Prepare procurement reports and monitor purchasing KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with logistics, finance and production teams.
• Resolve order, delivery and payment discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement processes.
