Job summary

You will join a lean team led by Head of Infrastructure, on a diverse client base, with opportunities for professional development and on-call flexibility. 5+ years’ experience, strong scripting and certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a comparable role.
Strong working knowledge of network protocols, routing and switching.
Solid experience with server hardware and storage solutions.
Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python is advantageous.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, MCSE, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator Expert or Fortinet NSE 4 are preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends and be available on call for emergencies.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks and storage systems.
Provide advanced Tier 3 support, picking up escalated issues from Tier 2 support and the NOC team.
Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and reliability, resolving issues proactively.
Perform regular system maintenance, patching and updates to keep infrastructure running optimally.
Implement and manage security measures that protect systems and data from cyber threats.
Manage and maintain virtualisation environments including VMware and Hyper-V.
Assist in the deployment and configuration of new infrastructure components.
Perform regular system backups and oversee recovery procedures.
Document infrastructure configurations, procedures and changes accurately.
Collaborate with IT team members to support and continuously improve IT services.
Occasionally act as a backfill resource on client sites when required.
Stay current with emerging industry trends and evolving technologies.

T3 Infrastructure Engineer (JB6315)

Salary: Negotiable, based on experience

The successful candidate will step into a team of four engineers led by a Head of Infrastructure, working on complex, real-world infrastructure environments for a diverse client base.
