Job summary

Network Finance in Western Cape is seeking an IT infrastructure professional to monitor servers, manage incidents, and administer Linux/Windows environments. The role involves diagnosing issues, implementing fixes, and improving monitoring and automation within production infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on server administration experience, networking knowledge, and familiarity with hosting/datacentre environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Linux/Windows Server administration experience.
• Solid TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, and email service knowledge.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and incident management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with hosting, datacentre, cloud, ISP, or infra environments.
• Certifications such as Linux, Microsoft, or CompTIA are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Monitor servers, infrastructure, and production environments to identify outages and performance issues.
• Respond proactively to alerts and investigate potential system concerns.
• Analyse logs and perform structured troubleshooting.
• Assist in maintaining high levels of infrastructure availability and reliability.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents and service disruptions.
• Diagnose technical issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Escalate complex incidents to relevant technical teams when required.
• Communicate effectively during outages and track incidents through to resolution.
• Assist with administration and maintenance of Linux and Windows server environments.
• Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Monitor, test, and maintain backup systems.
• Support the integration of new technologies into existing infrastructure environments.
• Support infrastructure security initiatives and adhere to access control policies.
• Identify and report vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, or configuration risks.
• Ensure infrastructure changes are properly documented and aligned with best practices.
• Assist internal teams with infrastructure-related issues and escalations.
• Provide technical guidance and feedback to Support and Engineering teams.
• Work collaboratively to resolve complex hosting and infrastructure challenges.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
• Contribute to projects focused on improving monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure management processes.
