Job summary

Capitec Bank Ltd. is seeking a senior Systems Engineer III to take ownership of our Linux environment across cloud and on‑premises. You will lead automation initiatives, troubleshoot complex infra issues, and help set the technical standard for the engineering team.

This role requires 7+ years in systems or infrastructure engineering, deep Linux expertise with RHCE at minimum, and strong AWS production experience within a high‑pressure financial services context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Systems Engineering, Linux Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Deep Linux expertise - RHCE minimum.
• Proven Red Hat Satellite and patch management skills.
• AWS cloud experience in production environments.
• Background in large, high-pressure environments, especially financial services infrastructure.

Systems Engineer III - Linux Tech Lead

This is a senior role for a Systems Engineer 3. You'll join a tight, technically excellent team and take full ownership of our Linux environment across cloud and on-premises. Your knowledge will help set the standard. Your decisions will shape how the platform runs.

What we're looking for

7+ years in Systems Engineering, Linux Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering

Deep Linux expertise - this is your primary strength, backed by e.g. RHCE certification as a minimum

Proven Red Hat Satellite and patch management skills

AWS cloud experience in production environments

A background in large, high-pressure environments - someone who understands the weight of financial services infrastructure
