Job summary

Virgin Active South Africa (Pty) Ltd seeks a Head of Department for its Swim programme, driving strategic development, staffing, training and safety. You will lead a team of instructors, manage budgets and ensure excellent member service.

You will recruit, train, and supervise staff, monitor programming quality and attendance, and maintain Virgin Active brand standards across all lessons and activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Matric qualification and recognised swim qualification.
• First aid level 1 and AED qualification required.
• Police clearance certificate essential.
• Completion of pro-active HOD training programme is required.
• Experience leading a swim programme and staff management.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of the swim programme including group and individual lessons.
• Recruitment and day-to-day leadership of the swim team.
• Manage budgets, revenue, and regular reporting.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and emergency procedures.
• Maintain high standards of member service and brand presentation.
• Develop monthly, innovative lesson timetables and monitor attendance.
