Placements24 is seeking a Head of Aquatics Programs to lead and expand water-sports initiatives across Cape Town. This fully remote leadership role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing recreational lessons, team management, safety standards, and athlete development.

You will recruit and mentor staff, manage budgets, and drive outreach to engage diverse communities while upholding high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading aquatics programs and coaching initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety, and competitive structures.
• Proven leadership and remote staff development abilities.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and budget skills.
• Comfort with digital communication tools and remote platforms.
• Certifications in Lifesaving, Swim Coaching, or Aquatics Management are desirable.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Aquatics Programs to lead and expand their water sports initiatives across Cape Town , operating in a fully remote capacity. This is a leadership position focused on developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of aquatics programming, from recreational lessons to competitive team management. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, instruction, and athlete development, fostering a thriving community of swimmers and water sports enthusiasts from various backgrounds. This role demands a strategic thinker with a passion for aquatic sports and a proven ability to manage diverse programs remotely, drive innovation, and build strong relationships with coaches, participants, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for all aquatics programs , including learn-to-swim, competitive swimming, and water safety initiatives.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of qualified aquatics instructors and coaches, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Oversee program budgets, resource allocation, and equipment management to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Design and execute marketing and outreach campaigns to increase program participation and community engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, certifications, and aquatic facility standards.
• Monitor program performance, gather feedback, and implement improvements to enhance the participant experience and outcomes.

Requirements
