Job summary

Pick n Pay is seeking a Sushi Production role to execute sushi recipes according to the weekly plan and ensure quality and freshness. You will maintain the work area, support promotions with the Sushi Chef, and assist with stocktakes and waste control to minimize loss.

Requires Grade 12, experience in cutting and filleting fish, and strong understanding of fish varieties and sushi preparation. English communication is essential, with attention to SOPs and onboard training.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in cutting and filleting fish.
• Broad knowledge of fish and seafood.
• Understanding of production cards and production plan.
• Knowledge of SOPs and sushi onboarding program.

Responsibilities

• Follow production plan to minimize waste and support sales growth.
• Produce sushi recipes according to the production plan.
• Maintain a clean work environment at all times.
• Prepare for upcoming promotional lines in conjunction with the Sushi Chef.
• Assist with monthly stocktakes and daily waste scanning.
• Adhere to food safety procedures and maintain cold chain.
