PowerPlay Global (Pty) Ltd. seeks a Surveillance/Security Officer to safeguard live studio operations within a gaming environment in South Africa.

You will monitor real-time activity, identify cheating or fraud, and document incidents with precise reporting to internal stakeholders and regulators. You will ensure regulatory adherence, preserve evidence, and coordinate with the Surveillance Manager and floor staff to maintain fairness and security.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Security Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience in surveillance, security or law enforcement, preferably in a casino or gaming environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor live gaming activities in real-time using surveillance technology.
• Identify suspicious behaviour, cheating, or fraudulent activity and document findings.
• Document and report irregularities or incidents observed during surveillance operations.
• Analyse gaming transactions and presenter actions to detect potential fraud or collusion; implement anti-cheating protocols.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies; stay updated on changes in regulations.
• Collect and preserve evidence through video recordings and reports; liaise with authorities as necessary.

Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Surveillance/Security Officer at PowerPlay Global (Pty) Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our live studio operations. Working within our state-of-the-art surveillance facilities, you will monitor live gaming activities to detect and prevent fraudulent behaviour, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and safeguard the interests of our players and the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize advanced surveillance technology to monitor live gaming activities in real-time.
• Maintain constant vigilance to identify any suspicious behaviour, cheating, or fraudulent activities.
• Document and report any irregularities or incidents observed during surveillance operations.
• Fraud Detection and Prevention:
  • Analyse gaming transactions, and actions of presentersto detect potential instances of fraud or collusion.
  • Implement protocols and procedures to prevent cheating and ensure fair play in all gaming activities.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including gaming regulations and internal policies.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulations and industry best practices to ensure the highest standards of compliance.
• Evidence Gathering and Reporting:
  • Collect and preserve evidence of suspicious activities through video recordings and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed reports on surveillance findings and collaborate with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities, as necessary.
• Work closely with other surveillance officers and security personnel including the Surveillance Manager, to coordinate surveillance efforts and share intelligence.
• Communicate effectively with gaming floor staff and management to address security concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance surveillance skills and knowledge of gaming regulations.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improving surveillance procedures and technology to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Qualification in Security Management, or related field preferred.

Previous experience in surveillance, security, or law enforcement roles, preferably in a casino or gaming environment.

Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in surveillance techniques and equipment operation.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for detecting patterns and anomalies.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for documenting findings and interacting with colleagues. Ability to work under pressure and maintain focus during extended surveillance sessions.

Understanding of gaming regulations and compliance requirements.

Familiarity with computer systems and software for data analysis and report generation.
