Placements24 is seeking a diligent Substation Engineer for its Richards Bay operations. You will design, engineer, and commission high‑voltage substations, ensuring safe, reliable transmission across KwaZulu‑Natal.

The role involves load calculations, protection schemes, and supervision of construction, with a focus on safety and compliance. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years in substation design are required, plus experience with design software.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in substation design and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.

About the Role

This role is pivotal in the design, construction, and maintenance of high-voltage substations, ensuring the safe and efficient transmission of electricity across the region. You will be involved in all stages of substation projects, from initial concept and design to commissioning and operational support, working closely with project managers and field teams. Key Responsibilities
