Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Subsea Production Systems Engineer for a hybrid role in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will design, install, operate, and maintain subsea production equipment, ensuring safe, reliable field developments while collaborating with offshore teams.

The role combines on-site technical work with remote analysis, requiring responsive problem-solving, strong communication, and a focus on safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in subsea production systems engineering.
• Knowledge of subsea trees, manifolds, connectors, pumps, and control systems.
• Experience with subsea field layout, flow assurance, and installation procedures.
• Familiarity with API and ISO standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and report-writing skills.
• Hybrid work environment with office and site/offshore visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design, specification, and procurement of subsea production equipment (trees, manifolds, control systems, pipelines).
• Support offshore installation and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
• Develop and execute procedures for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of subsea production systems.
• Perform system analysis and integrity assessments to ensure reliability and safety of subsea assets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project management, clients, and suppliers.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including design reports, operating manuals, and risk assessments.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in subsea engineering.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide timely technical solutions to ensure maximum uptime of subsea facilities.
