Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Subsea Engineer to contribute to offshore hydrocarbon projects from the Upington hub. You will lead the design, installation, and operation of subsea systems, collaborating with project teams and offshore personnel to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/ocean engineering, at least seven years in subsea environments, and proficiency with subsea hardware, control systems, and installation procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of subsea engineering experience in offshore environments.
• Proficiency in subsea hardware design, installation techniques, and control systems.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify subsea production systems (trees, manifolds, pipelines, control systems).
• Develop installation procedures and support offshore installation and commissioning activities.
• Perform technical evaluations of subsea equipment and supplier proposals.
• Analyze subsea system performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with drilling, production, and structural engineers to integrate subsea components into project plans.
