Job summary

Wheco Group in the Western Cape seeks a hands-on Styling Assistant to support Interior Designers and Stylists across multiple stores. You will assist with showroom reworks, furniture moves, installations and basic maintenance.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail and willingness to travel regularly between stores within the region. You will work in a retail showroom environment and collaborate with design teams to bring showroom changes to life.

Responsibilities

• Travel with Interior Designers and Stylists to stores within the appointed region.
• Assist with showroom reworks, layout changes and furniture moves.
• Position furniture, décor and display elements according to styling direction.
• Assist with mounting artwork, mirrors, signage and other display items.
• Support basic maintenance, minor repairs and installations within showroom areas.
• Assist with preparing stores for styling changes, launches, revamps and installations.
• Handle, unpack and move stock and display items safely.
• Maintain tools, work areas and general housekeeping during projects.
• Provide practical support to Interior Designers and Stylists to complete store updates efficiently.

Our Interior Designers and Styling teams work across multiple stores to maintain and improve these environments, and practical support is essential to getting the work done well.

We are looking for a hands‑on Styling Assistant who enjoys practical work, working across different store locations and being part of a fast‑moving team. The role will support Interior Designers and Stylists with showroom reworks, furniture moves, installations, basic maintenance and general styling‑related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel with Interior Designers and Stylists to stores within the appointed region
• Assist with showroom reworks, layout changes and furniture moves
• Position furniture, décor and display elements according to styling direction
• Assist with mounting artwork, mirrors, signage and other display items
• Support basic maintenance, minor repairs and installations within showroom areas
• Assist with preparing stores for styling changes, launches, revamps and installations

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 preferred
• Previous experience in retail, maintenance, installations, furniture handling or general assistance advantageous
• Basic numeracy and literacy
• Willing and able to travel regularly between multiple stores within the appointed region
• Flexibility to assist with early starts, installations or project work when required
