A leading luxury interiors business is looking for a passionate, professional and customer-focused Showroom Consultant to join its Cape Town showroom.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for interior design, fabrics, wallpaper and beautiful spaces.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an exceptional showroom experience, providing knowledgeable product advice and assisting customers with selecting fabrics and wallpaper for their individual projects.

This is a customer-facing sales role that combines interior design knowledge, sales, relationship building, customer service and showroom operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the showroom to a consistently high visual and operational standard.
• Welcome customers and provide a warm, professional and knowledgeable service.
• Understand customer requirements and provide suitable product and design advice.
• Assist customers with selecting fabrics and wallpaper for their projects.
• Confidently present and sell products and design concepts.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Follow up with customers and provide excellent after-sales service.
• Assist with customer queries, product information and quotations.
• Maintain fabric cuttings, sample hangers, books and showroom materials.
• Ensure products, displays and samples are presented to a high standard.
• Coordinate customer deliveries and assist with the efficient processing of orders and samples.
• Support internal and field sales consultants where required.
• Follow sales opportunities through to completion.
• Keep up to date with product ranges, new collections and industry trends.
• Contribute towards showroom sales targets and business objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and showroom operation.

Requirements

• National Senior Certificate is required.
• Certificate or Diploma in Interior Decorating, Interior Design or a related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years' sales experience in a retail environment.
• Previous exposure to an interior decorating or design environment is required.
• Experience in interiors, décor, furniture, fabrics or a related industry would be advantageous.
• Experience coordinating showroom, shop or retail operations would be beneficial.
• Strong product knowledge and a genuine interest in the interiors industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Strong sales, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Own reliable transport is required.
