Job summary

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) seeks an Academic Support Advisor for the Johannesburg Campus to empower students through guidance on study planning, coping strategies, and access to academic resources.

You will monitor progress, intervene with at-risk students, and link academic interests to career goals, reporting to the Academic Support Manager. This full-time role requires strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Coaching, Business Management, Leadership or 5+ years cognate field with strong academic results.
• Proficiency with online systems and digital tools.
• Minimum 2 years full-time experience in Higher Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of academic support and development services to empower students to realise academic success.
• Guide students on study planning, study strategies and interventions; provide access to academic resources.
• Monitor student progress, intervene with at-risk students, and support retention efforts.
• Connect students’ academic interests with personal and career ambitions.
• Collaborate with student-facing teams and report to the Academic Support Manager.
