Surbana Jurong is seeking a Resident Engineer for a Durban-based project to oversee contract administration, quality control and stakeholder liaison. The role involves reviewing drawings, managing contractor queries, and ensuring compliance with the project’s quality and Environmental Management requirements.

You will participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, monitor budgets and schedules, and contribute to close-out activities. Durban-based site work with a dynamic team is expected.

Responsabilités

• Contract Administration acting as Resident Engineer for this project.
• Reviewing construction drawings and handling contractor queries via designers.
• Inspection of works and test results for quality control.
• Preparing and updating estimates to completion.
• Maintaining site administration records per SMEC quality management system.
• Taking and contributing to minutes at technical and site meetings.
• Maintaining monthly progress reports.
• Liaison with clients and contractors.
• Managing resources for site supervision.
• Monitoring quality of works.
• Monitoring programme and contract budgets.
• Handling claims.
• Preparation of variation orders.
• Stakeholder engagement participation.
• Closing out projects with completion/closeout reports and environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Contract Administration acting as Resident Engineer for this project;
• Reviewing the construction drawings and managing the processes of dealing with Contractor queries by liaising with the designers through the required communication lines;
• Inspection of the works and test results for quality control;
• Preparing and updating estimates to completion;
• Maintaining records of site administration and communication in terms SMEC’s quality management system and Construction Manual;
• Attending and contributing to taking minutes at technical and site meetings;
• Maintaining monthly progress reports;
• Liaison with clients and contractors;
• Managing resources for site supervision;
• Monitoring of quality of works;
• Monitoring of programme and contract budgets;
• Handling claims;
• Preparation of variation orders;
• Participate in stakeholder engagement
• Closing out projects including compiling completion/closeout reports; and Monitoring of Environmental Management Programs
