Placements24 is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to commercial building projects in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will apply innovative design solutions to meet client needs and regulatory requirements, joining a collaborative team focused on safety and integrity of buildings.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a structural focus, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, and Revit. Travel to project sites within the region is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a strong focus on structural engineering.
• PrEng designation or eligible for registration.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in structural design of buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS and SAP2000.
• Experience with BIM software (Revit) is advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of concrete, steel, and masonry design principles.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within Kimberley, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for commercial buildings, including high-rises and offices.
• Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry software.
• Ensure designs comply with National Building Regulations and SANS codes.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress.
• Review contractor submittals and provide approvals.
• Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies for proposed structures.
