Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Structural Engineer to join our client’s team in Kimberley. The role focuses on structural integrity, design and analysis of mechanical components to withstand operational loads and environmental conditions.

You will perform detailed structural analysis, select materials, and provide design recommendations to ensure safety and reliability, with a strong background in solid mechanics and structural design in the Northern Cape region.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in structural analysis and mechanical design.
• Proficient with FEA software such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
• Experience with CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics and materials science.
• Knowledge of dynamics, fatigue and vibration is a plus.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Structural Engineer to join their team in Kimberley . You will be responsible for performing detailed structural analysis, selecting appropriate materials, and providing design recommendations to ensure safety and reliability. This is a critical position for an engineer with a strong background in solid mechanics and structural design within the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) on mechanical components and assemblies.
• Design and optimize structures to meet load, stiffness, and durability requirements.
• Select appropriate materials based on mechanical properties, environmental conditions, and cost considerations.
• Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate structural design into overall system architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil/Structural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
