Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic engineering consultancy based in Mahikeng, North West , is seeking a highly competent Civil Engineer with a strong focus on structural design and analysis. This contract position is ideal for a skilled professional looking to contribute to various building and infrastructure projects within the region. You will be responsible for the structural integrity of designs, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant building codes and standards. The role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively within a project team environment. Based in our client's offices in Mahikeng , you will have direct access to project information and team collaboration, ensuring efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, as well as bridges and other infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations (SANS 10400) and other applicable codes.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a strong emphasis on structural engineering.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Prokon, ETABS, SAP2000) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Solid understanding of reinforced concrete, steel, and timber design principles.
• Knowledge of South African building codes and construction practices.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team in Mahikeng .
