Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural design and analysis.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Experience designing structures exposed to marine environments or coastal conditions.
• Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and quality control in Durban.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural elements for buildings, bridges, marine structures, and other infrastructure projects, considering complex load conditions.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant design codes and software.
• Perform site inspections and assessments to ensure construction quality and adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, geotechnical engineers, and project managers to integrate structural designs seamlessly.
• Assess existing structures for rehabilitation or strengthening, providing expert recommendations.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant engineering best practices for the Durban region.
