Placements24 seeks a meticulous Structural Engineer to lead coastal and marine projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. Design and analyze structures under challenging marine conditions to ensure safety and longevity.

You will use SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro and CAD tools while collaborating with architects and engineers. A Bachelor’s in Structural/Civil Engineering and 6+ years of coastal experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural specialization.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant structural design experience.
• Experience with coastal or marine projects is preferred.

About the Role

This role involves the design and analysis of robust structures capable of withstanding challenging marine and environmental conditions. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and longevity of buildings, bridges, and port facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze building structures, bridges, piers, and other civil infrastructure, considering marine environments and coastal loads.
• Perform structural calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies to ensure code compliance and safety.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure quality and adherence to design intent.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other consultants to achieve integrated project designs.
• Assess existing structures for integrity and propose rehabilitation or strengthening solutions in the Richards Bay area.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in structural design, preferably with exposure to coastal or marine projects.
